October 29-30. The Regional Monitoring Program (RMP) is partnering with the San Francisco Estuary Partnership (SFEP) to host theRMP Annual Meeting in conjunction with the State of the Estuary Conference. The 20/20 Vision: Past Reflections, Future Directions will be the conference focus through professional technical presentations, interactive discussions and educational outreach programs all designed to ensure the health of the San Francisco Estuary.
The US Department of Energy’s Office (DOE) of Health, Safety, and Security (HSS) held its annual Analytical Services Program (ASP) workshop in Asheville, NC, from September 23-26. This meeting provides a venue for laboratories that provide analytical services to DOE sites to share information and receive updated training. Brooks Rand Labs is licensed to receive radioactive materials from a variety of DOE sites throughout the US. Michelle Briscoe, President of Brooks Rand Labs, gave a very well-received presentation at this workshop on the Selective Sequential Extraction for Mercury Speciation in Soil Samples, including several case studies from the Oak Ridge Reservation’s Y-12 site.
